This is my new pocket camera!
When I made the switch to digital following some 40 years of shooting film as a fashion/glamour photographer I sought, and continue to seek, the cameras and lenses that will mimic the quality that I achieved with film. (Back in the day, I settled on Leica cameras and Kodachrome). Part of the... Read full review »
Canon's G11 is a step in the right direction.
Canon released not too long ago the respectable G10, and while a good camera it was also a kind of zenith of the megapixel race with 14.7 MPx in such a small sensor. It's already eclipsed by even more dense sensors, but in the Advanced P&S category it became clear that MPx isn't everything and low... Read full review »
Less is More
Last summer I bought and reviewed the Canon PowreShot G10, which is the immediate predecesor of this model. What I found both in my initial review and in 4-months of using the camera was an extremely well-designed, well-built camera capable of producing extraordinary image quality, within the... A great camera.
Okay. I'm an average basic digital camera user. So if you are too, read on.
I like to take pictures of everything from my kids, ebay stuff, flowers (close up) and fields (distant).
Now when I take pictures, I always expected there to be some imperfect ones, but overall 15%-25% had...

Good Camera to Carry Around
I bought the Canon G11 camera to use as an all-purpose go-anywhere camera, and I was not disappointed with it for that purpose. It is really a bit too big to be a pocket camera and the image quality is not up to dslr quality, but I really hate lugging a camera around and the G11 really is... Read full review »
A Camera That Does It All
I have owned almost every edition of the Canon “G” series cameras, including the G3, G5, G6, G7, G9 and G10. In case you’re wondering about the G4 and G8…there weren’t any. It seems that the Japanese have some kind of superstition about the numbers in multiples of 4, so they never named any of... Read full review »
Excellent Point-n-shoot camera with advanced features
I bought Canon Powershot G10 a couple of months ago and had to sell it because of my need of rotating LCD screen. I bit the bullet and bought this brand new G11. At first I bought G11 for the sole reason of having rotating LCD, but after using it for a while I realized there were also... Read full review »
Like the G10, A Dud
The G11 is a better camera than the G10 for one reason. It has fewer MP. The move from 15 to about 10 MP was designed to lower noise, especially at higher ISO's, but the G11 is still pretending to be something it's not. Though capable of a good picture in ideal conditions, the tiny sensor and lens... Read full review »
Love It!
I've had the Canon G11 for 2 months now, and I absolutely love it! I bought it based on a recommendation from a photographer friend of mine, and it's been great! It's expensive, but worth the price. The swivel screen is awesome, and the picture quality is AMAZING It... Read full review »
Best on market
This takes wonderful pictures. I am not disappointed at all with this camera even though it does capture a lot of red eye. I would pay the price to remove red eye later for this camera. I use it at any event I attend. The pictures are crisp and clear and you will not be disappointed with your... Read full review »
