Cobra Electronics MicroTalk FRS 315 WX (14 Channels) Two Way Radio

A few weeks ago i finally decided that FRS radios were a necessary item for our family. We do alot of outdoor activities (skiing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking) so these are great for communicating between the slow ones and the fast ones. I did some research and figured i'd get a Cobra or a Motarola perferrably with subchannels. So i looked at ebay and watched prices for awhile and then picked up my pair of Radios for US $58.00 including charger and batteries. So far i have been very pleased with them. The manual is fairly well laid out and easy to understand. Basic operation is a synch. Key lock is a great thing to have as well as power save mode. Also the NOAA weather channels is a plus for us as we are often out on Georgian Bay, sea kayaking, and these radios enable us to get the marine weather forecasts. They are also reasonably weather resistant so they work good for camping trips etc. The charger seems to work great. Only takes about 2 1/2 hours to recharge. One complaint i have is that it is almost impossible to flip up to antenna with only one hand, you have to hold the radio with one hand and flip out the antenna with the other. So far though i haven't run into any other major problems and would whole heartedly recommend these great little gadgets.
