Usable enough
We had to get a new coffee maker, as our 15 year appliance's glass carafe developed cracks. Hot Coffee - no breakable parts
In general, I prefer thermos coffeemakers as they are on only for the brew cycle; the danger of leaving your coffeepot on is over.
