OVERVIEW

The folks at Olympus have often been innovators in both the 35mm camera and digital imaging worlds. Their half frame Pen F cameras from the early sixties offered photographers the option of 72 images on a standard (36 exp) roll of 35mm film, with all the lenses and accessories of... Releasing Camedia E-10, Olympus have once again upped the ante on what consumers could get, and soon would demand, from a high quality SLR digicam in the sub-$2K price range.

First, the good news.

The look and feel: The camera has a very pleasant tactile feel. The zoom and... Read full review »

One of the very best--and a bargain!

byjorge_b Aug 5, 2001

Pros Picture quality, ergonomics, construction, controls, two media formats
Cons Slow preview mode and start-up, substantial price
Recommended it? Yes

The E-10 is my third digital camera and far and away the best. OK, the others--both Kodaks--were not nearly as pricey, but the E-10 is not only superior in every way, it is, dollar-for-dollar, the clear bargain leader.

My film cameras of choice have long been OM-1, Om-2, and OM-4 from... Read full review »

I have owned an E-10 for over two years now and it has only been in the past month or so that I felt I had anything unique enough to say about my E-10 to warrant a review. I could give you a history lesson about the importance of the E-10 in relation to price and features, or I could give you a... Read full review »

Hello Everyone,

I am the proud owner of the Olympus E-10 and personally am not looking to sell this one anytime soon. This is my 5th Digital Camera and the Olympus E-10 replaced my pervious camera "Canon G1" and I never looked back. The Olympus capabilities are so much more powerful then... Read full review »

Cons Program mode is not shiftable.

I have owned several Digital cameras, Nikon 990, Olympus 2500 & 3000, Fuji
4900z, + a few others.
I really do like the ability to use a digital darkroom and wanted to be able
to give up film entirely.
None of these cameras would allow me to do that. Mainly shutter lag and

I'm a 30 year professional and a General member of ASMP. I specialize in Architecture and Interiors. I bought a new E-10 as an entry for our studio into the digital realm as far as shooting goes. I was very attracted to the 4MP usable resolution and the described excellence of the lens.

After looking for a state of the art, top of the line digital camera we decided on this model. Not being sure how easy it would be to start taking pictures, I checked the manual for what the default, automatic settings were. After doing so, I was completely amazed at the quality of the images. It took me a year to finally decided to take the plunge on the Olympus E-10. I read everything I could locate to be as well informed as possible when it came time to buy.
