Onkyo DV-CP500 Multi-disc DVD Player

The guy who said electronic don't fail anymore must be living in a bubble. I've been a Service man for 25 years and today's electronics are the worst EVER!!!! DV-CR500 has a Sony display chip, Omega DVD control chip, Mitsumi, Pioneer, and Hynix chips as well. Who made this unit? EVERYONE... Most electronics are a miss match of parts and close-outs that company's buy at rock-bottom prices. They then design a unit based on the cheap parts that are available at the time and put there name on it hoping that customers will buy it because of their PAST reputation. Most everything is like that today. Wake-up!!! Most consumers flocked to Highland appliance and Olie Fretter in the 80's and bought the CHEAP stuff. The good company's couldn't compete so they had to lower quality. We did it to ourselves. Now you can't buy a good product if you tried. Parts to repair this are not available and if one can get a part, it costs more than a new unit. It dosen't matter if you pay $2000.00 for a Plazma or $350 for this dvd, We are on our own when it breaks down past the 90 day warranty.
