A good first mini DV camcorder
My wife finally pushed hard enough to get me to upgrade from our Hi8 big camcorder to a new Mini DV camcorder. I did quite a bit of research...looked at Sony, Canon, JVC and Pansonic primarily. Decided I didn't like the Sony's because of the touch screen and also the proprietary memory stick.

DO NOT GET THIS
this camera is good if you outdoors and in good light. otherwise forget it. low light is exaggerated to darker. the light is good for subjects only a 2.5 feet away. and the light makes everything blueish and the white stabilizer doesn't correct it. the so called "Night Shot" is just a stupid... I researched high and low for the best bang for your buck digital camcorder. This is one of two or three cameras that can't be beat for the price.
