When wide matters
When I first got a digital SLR, my brother gave me some great advice. He told me to wait a few months before buying any new lenses. At the time, I had a Sigma 28-90 and a Nikkor 35-135. Those should be enough for a while. Eventually, I’d figure out what, if anything, I needed to get. It didn’t take... Read full review »
Sigma 10-20mm ULTRAWIDE zoom for Nikon DX
The Sigma 10-20mm I am evaluating is one setup for use on a Nikon DX format Digital SLR. The lens I purchased came well packaged with a very nice custom case, and a small lens hood. Overall, a very quality appearing package.
This lens is primarily used on the D200 body, and the results with...

You need this for near action on C sensor digitals
I started looking for a lens with more low end awhile ago. My primary lens that I use most of the time is a Canon 17-85 IS, that is the perfect lens for what I use it for 90% of the time but sometimes, if the action is really close even 17mm with the 1.6 magnification factor for the C size sensor... REALLY WIDE AND REALLY SHARP but wide open is only f/4 at best
I've been using the 10-20mm HSM Nikon mount version of the Sigma super wide zoom and really have come to treat it as my favorite lens. Here's why:
1) The wide end at 10mm is really extraordinary, and if there is a slight degradation of quality in the corners, you'll normally never see it...

An excellent alternative to prime glass dollars, maybe.
I have always been a glass snob. Never have I shot anything but Nikon glass because THAT is what sees the picture, the camera only remembers it. That being said, my wife has a Nikon 12-24 and we often shoot together and sometimes need the same lens. A fellow shooter and Cannon lens snob spoke... Read full review »
Sigma 10-20mm lens on Canon EOS cameras-WOW!
I bought this lens to replace two manual focus lenses I had.An 8mm circular fisheye and a 16mm fisheye.
The older you get,the harder it is to focus the older manual focus lenses..and why would you want to ?
I have the Canon 20D and Rebel XT 350.If you shoot with a digital SLR...

If you need a wide zoom, this is the one to get
I have like most others the Canon 17-85 IS lens but wanted something wider for building and landscape shots.
After reading around I decided to try this lens. I've had many Sigma lenses over the years and generally been quite happy with them plus Amazon had it on sale.
I took it...

Real value for money
Brought this lens for my Nikon D300 after extensive comparison and study with Nikon 12-24 and other similar third party lenses. This lens is truly value for money and it stretches 2 mm before on the wide side. Went to the shop and found 2 models. Tested the first one and found some softness at the... Read full review »
Excellent Value Wide Angle
I bought this lens mainly for taking pictures of family occasions indoors. But after using it and seeing how incredibly sharp it is, I now also use it for landscape photography. I was originally considering the Canon 10-22mm lens but it was too expensive for my budget. The Sigma 10-20 was at least... Read full review »

Sigma provides the new ultra-wide angle zoom lens from 15mm and this lens is the first of its kind in the world. It can be useful for images of landscapes, large buildings, group photographs or even more. The perspective that changes with the angle-of-view gives picture an extraordinary feeling. Delicate compositions can be adjusted by lens zooming and this is helpful for close-up photography. Provides deep depth of field with its short focal length for amazing photographic expressions. This ultra-wide zoom lens covers a large wide-angle range from 15 mm to 30 mm. With a minimum focusing distance of 30 cm(11.8 inches) throughout the entire zoom range, it is an ideal lens for Digital SLR Cameras. It incorporates hybrid aspherical lens in the front lens group to minimize distortion and astigmatism, and molded glass aspherical lens in the rear lens group to minimize spherical aberration. Minimization of the distortion is a most important issue for zoom lens, but Sigma has succeeded, to provide image quality with minimal distortion by employing aspherical lenses. This lens incorporates an internal focusing system, which eliminates front lens rotation. Since focusing do not change its overall length, this lens is easy to hold and use. Also it is allowing the use of a Petal-type Hood. The lens also incorporates Dual-Focus (DF) mechanism. It is easy to hold the lens, since the focusing ring does not rotate during auto-focus, yet it provides adequate focusing torque of the focusing ring during manual focusing of the lens.
