After a unfortunate loss of my DSC-P9 (stolen while I was deployed in the middle east during the war), I was looking for a replacement. Originally my idea was to get another P9 as I was happy with its performance and the ability to take over 700 images (fine quality at 640X480 on a 128MB memory... Read full review »

Sony DSCP92 Review

This winter I found myself in the market for a digital point and shoot camera. After spending several weeks researching various cameras I settled on the Sony DCPS92. I purchased the P92 for 292.00 dollars after a 50.00 dollar mail-in-rebate at Circuit City in Dec 03. I... Read full review »

I bought this camera to replace my 2 megapixel Olympus digital camera as it was on sale for what was a great price for any name brand 5 megapixel camera.

A 3-megapixel camera tweaked to have 5-megapixels

bykupalmuvz Jan 3, 2004

Pros Great video modes
Cons Choppy pictures at 5mp setting, memory sticks are expensive, No Black and White setting
Recommended it? No

I bought this camera as an upgrade to my Sony P72 3-megapixel camera because it had 5-megapixels and was cheaper than the Sony F-717, which was around $700.

The Sony P92 is like a Sony P32/52/72, but it has 5mp instead of 3. The extra 2mp do not help at all. The pictures are choppy and... Read full review »

Cons No camera case included.

I haven't been a big fan of digital cameras for a while. I have been completely uninterested in purchasing one over my old 35mm because of the lower photo quality, the high price, and perhaps my unwillingness to change. All that has changed now that I've had my first taste of Sony's DSC-P92.

Not sure why anyone liked this camera

bydmland Sep 4, 2007

Pros Was reasonably priced for features at the time.
Cons Awful shutter lag, poor image quality, poor battery life, expensive proprietary storage.
Recommended it? No

This was my first digital camera purchase some years back, and I doubt I'll buy a Sony still camera again as a result, which surprises me: I like Sony.

I chose it partly because it seemed like a good price for a 5MP camera at the time (at Best Buy) and because I had nothing but great... Read full review »
