Not so great
Cheap - yes. Great - no.
For a teenager or a first time camcorder owner - maybe.
Invest more and you will get more. A friend of mine bought this one (she wanted a small, unexpensive camcorder) and she is unhappy with it.
The battery runs out quickly. The lens is not protected...

Wonderful camera!
I got this camera for my 15th birthday, and it works wonderfully. I'm a parkour/ freerunner, and this camera is perfect for recording and promoting stunts, etc. It turns on when you open the view finder on the side. not good for my needs
purchased for my 13 year old son. it's not mac compatable and we had a hard time getting it to work on the pc. quicktime and mediaplayer won't handle the files so you need to use the sony software - which wants to own every file on your computer in some kind of library database called PMB.
