A $1600 mistake
Pros
Affordable, attractive case, short footprint
Cons
Less robust picture quality than a Sony, horrible worksmanship, customer no-service
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
A big mistake. Picture quality found on a bargain TV set--not worthy of HDTV status. Laughable build quality. Customer No-Service
First of all, I hope every one has the chance to check the picture quality of this set vis-a-vis more popular sets at a retailer. Be sure to play with the picture adjustments as well; this way you can earnestly believe that this set is inferior to other brands. I know Zenith is offering new lines of TV's that tout many cutting edge features, however, I think they are off on the wrong foot here and rather should focus on a robust image instead of gimmicks.
Secondly, my set came out of the box with a serious problem that has yet to be resolved: the picture is tilted 5 degrees. The unit went to a service center immediately, and then came back...with the picture still slanted. Customer service was less than willing to help me- this really puzzles me since Zenith is trying to reinvigorate its product line and should not leave itself susceptible to this deserved criticism.
In sum, don't be fooled by the price, you are getting less than what you paid for.
