By combining improved materials with exceptional fit and comfort, the GEL-1160™ offers the best value in the ASICS® Performance Running line. Upper: Open mesh upper with synthetic overlays provides excellent comfort, breathability and support. Padded air mesh tongue maximizes comfort and ventilation. 3M Reflective material enhances visibility during low light hours. Midsole: Forefoot and rearfoot GEL cushioning systems are strategically placed to absorb shock during the impact phase. SpEVA® midsole material improves bounce back characteristics and decreases midsole breakdown. Trusstic System™, a molded component, reduces the weight of the sole unit while retaining the structural integrity of the shoe. It links the rearfoot and forefoot and shores the midfoot. DuoMax® is a proprietary ASICS® system consisting of two or more different density midsole materials, designed to help correct the degree and velocity of pronation. Built on a Solyte® 55 last which employs 55 degree full length Solyte® lasting material for a soft but stable platform feel and improved comfort. Outsole: AHAR® Heel Plug, an acronym for ASICS® High Abrasion Resistant rubber, placed in critical areas of the outsole for increased durability.
