The A720is replaces the less than two years old A710is at the same if not lower price: around 250 euro in Europe, 250$ in the US. It seems that even if nowadays 1 euro corresponds to 1,43$ the prices of electronic components in the US and EU are pretty much the same regardless...

Lots better by comparison
The Canon A720IS stands heads and shoulders above the (three) Olympus cameras I've used - and I found its menus and settings more user-friendly than the two Nikon Coolpix models I've handled.
