Left for worm food under a huge boulder at the conclusion of Banjo-Kazooie, Gruntilda the witch is back and boy, is she mad. Forming a coven of co-conspirators with hideous sisters Mingella and Blobbelda, Grunty has hatched a madcap plan to regain her former beauty by using the Big O'Blaster (B.O.B.) to suck the life force from B-K's island. Naturally, Banjo, the ever-cheerful bear, and Kazooie, the wise-mouthed breegull who camps out in Banjo's blue backpack, will do everything in their power to stop Grunty's nefarious plot. Developer Rare (Donkey Kong 64) has greatly extended replayability by adding 14, count 'em, 14 multiplayer games. In keeping with Banjo-Tooie's tongue-in-cheek character, the multiplayer games include daft versions of soccer and bumper cars as well as first-person shooters in which you lock-and-load an egg-shooting Kazooie. Solo players can refight bosses and replay Banjo-Tooie's myriad minigames as often as they want. Less

For those who enjoy the lure of fishing but can't stand the early hours, Bassmasters 2000 offers the realism, detailed graphics, and inevitable fun one expects from a fishing simulation game endorsed by B.A.S.S. (Bass Anglers Sportsman Society). Bassmasters 2000 takes virtual anglers to highly detailed re-creations of the same lakes that are on the Bassmaster tournament circuit. Presented in a television-style format, the game features angling legends Shaw Grigsby and Roland Martin providing up-to-the-moment commentary and expert advice. Off the lake, players can visit a virtual tackle shop to upgrade bait and equipment, and the create-an-angler mode lets players choose a distinct personality. A split-screen, two-player mode offers a witness to confirm or deny that inevitable tale about the big one that got away. Less

Banjo-Tooie vs. Banjo-Kazooie

byImAmes Jun 4, 2001
99 Helpfuls 100 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Great Graphics, but nothing different than the first.
Cons Banjo-Kazooie was better!
Recommended it? Yes

Banjo-Tooie, which came out this past Christmas, was one I have been looking forward to ever since I finished the first one last year. Now Banjo-Kazooie was no easy feat, and took several months, and me almost going bald, to almost complete it. I got about as far as Gruntilda the witch and the duel... Read full review »

Pros All the same moves; it's basically no different from playing the classic prequel.
Cons Detailed worlds cause slow-motion at times.
Recommended it? Yes

Greetings to all you vile insects out there. It is me, Gruntilda. Flamepillar is not at his computer at the moment. He stupidly left the thing running while he took a break to go try and find me. Allow me to explain.

I am his worst nightmare. I am the lead villain of the video game... Read full review »

Pros Lots of options and Lure Cam
Cons Only two lakes to choose from.
Recommended it? Yes

This is a pretty good fishing game. You know how you flip through cable channels for an hour and nothing is on, then you hit that fishing show and you cant help but stop and watch for awhile. Well this is that fishing show only you get to fish instead of watching.

You have plenty of... Read full review »

Bassmaster 2000 - Fun Without Leaving Your Chair

bykevlor1999 Mar 31, 2000
3 Helpfuls 4 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Hours of fun; None of the work of "real" fishing
Cons Music can get a little annoying after a while
Recommended it? Yes

Well, what more can you ask for? All the fun of fishing without having to get up before sunrise, get your hands dirty, worry about running your boat into the rocks, have a care in the world about weather conditions, and whether or not you can find any fish. Plus, this is the only time in my life... Read full review »
