An evil force has struck Earth, and the harmony created by kindred spirits -- dolphins and humans -- is in mortal danger. The force ripped a hole in the space/time continuum, and one dolphin, Ecco, fell through into the past. Our fine finned hero is back in full 3D as the award-winning series continues with Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future on Dreamcast. His mission: to restore the former dolphin/human paradise, save the planet from self-destruction, and win back his future. To do this, you must help Ecco recover the stolen dolphin-power that has been scattered throughout time and space. The bottlenosed dolphin travels through mysterious and breathtaking underwater worlds filled with puzzles, friends, foes, and danger. The graphics in Ecco are just astounding and have floored critics with their unprecedented beauty and sheer detail -- this is one game that takes full advantage of Dreamcast's power. Less

Pros Great atmosphere, graphics, control,
Cons lack of direction at times
Recommended it? Yes

Being an early adopter of the Dreamcast I have always been a huge advocate for its sucess. Not because I am a Sega fan (to tell you the truth I'm not really a huge fan of Sega itself)but because I am a fan of video games period and if Sega can put together a competent or superior system with pretty... Ecco - everything seems to be going swimmingly

Pros Fantastic graphics and immersive gameplay
Cons perhaps too tranquil for some
Recommended it? Yes

If you rate graphics over gameplay, this is a game for you. This underwater epic has been around now for quite some time, yet little has changed in the way of gameplay. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing.

The graphics however are some of the best you will ever witness. The game lends... Read full review »

Even more fun than the old Spider-Man platform games

byHawgWyld Jan 8, 2003

Pros Visually and musically beautiful; Spider-Man's moves are created well; dandy action
Cons Too short; the final level is a needless chore; port of a PS1 game?
Recommended it? Yes

You know, that old theme from the Spider-Man cartoon always bothered me. You know the one. It's famous:

Spider-Man
Spider-Man
Does whatever a spider can

Actually, that little ditty is misleading as hell because Spider-Man can do much more than a common, household... Read full review »

Spiderman for PlayStation 1

Pros Great graphics and sound - Stan Lee himself narrates
Cons Controls can be awkward, Camera angles a little funky
Recommended it? Yes

Note: Just so that there is no confusion, this review is of the Spiderman game for PlayStation 1, and it came out over a year before the new Spider-Man movie was released. There is a new Spider-Man game for PlayStation 2, but this review is of an older one.

Spiderman for PlayStation is... Read full review »
