Even more fun than the old Spider-Man platform games

byHawgWyld Jan 8, 2003
54 Helpfuls 55 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Visually and musically beautiful; Spider-Man's moves are created well; dandy action
Cons Too short; the final level is a needless chore; port of a PS1 game?
Recommended it? Yes

You know, that old theme from the Spider-Man cartoon always bothered me. You know the one. It's famous:

Spider-Man
Spider-Man
Does whatever a spider can

Actually, that little ditty is misleading as hell because Spider-Man can do much more than a common, household... Read full review »

Pros Great graphics and sound - Stan Lee himself narrates
Cons Controls can be awkward, Camera angles a little funky
Recommended it? Yes

Note: Just so that there is no confusion, this review is of the Spiderman game for PlayStation 1, and it came out over a year before the new Spider-Man movie was released. There is a new Spider-Man game for PlayStation 2, but this review is of an older one.

Pros Creative, puts good use to the keyboard, numerous modes
Cons Same as HotD2 but without the controller or light gun
Recommended it? Yes

No, that?s not a spelling mistake, I meant to replace house with typing. For those who don?t know about this game, it?s Sega?s latest addition to the House of the Dead series. While being a perfect port of the House of the Dead 2 game, there is a new twist with the Typing of the Dead, and yup you... Read full review »

Aaaawww! That is my leg, you doorknob!

Pros graphics; action
Cons too expensive; short replay value
Recommended it? No

I am not the only looser who would put 5 bucks into the token machine and spend 30 minutes in front of House of the Dead 2. Hey, there were some losers who would change 20 bucks and try to play with 2 guns Chow Yun Fat style. They struggled, ahhed, grinned, but sooner or later they failed. Mainly... Read full review »
