Today is my first day with Onkyo CP701 DVD player. I tried playing MP3s, CDs, DVDs. All of them worked fine.
It played my poor quality MP3 CDs extremely well. I was really impressed with that.

Upgraded from my Fisher single DVD player, a device I got for free. I matched this player to my Onkyo reciever and HT500 speaker package, and could not be happier. The recievers remote takes care of the whole shebang, so I found no need for the DVD remote once I had it all set up.

This DVD/VCR combo was designed for use with a cable/satellite box. It has no analog or digital tuner of it's own. It needs an external tuner to record VCR tapes. It has no cable TV jack.
