Mike LeRoi, once a regular guy, has met with a bizarre fate. He and his family were the victims of a gang driveby and he slipped into a coma, the only survivor. Upon awakening, nothing could prepare him for what he would soon become. His friend Nettie, a voodoo priestess, trained him in the arts of the assassin so he could avenge his family and he became Shadow Man. Now he travels through the living and dead worlds, made even more beautiful by the power of Dreamcast. In Shadow Man, Nettie instructs him on the Liveside, and Jaunty, a top-hat wearing snake, shows him the ropes on the Deadside. He must boost up his powers by bringing down "The Five" in order to go against the biggest evil being of them all, Legion -- who plans to bring about the Apocalypse. Travel as Shadow Man to stop this catastrophe before it starts! Less

The Dark Souls are Mine...

bylorinap Jul 11, 2000
9 Helpfuls 10 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros tight control, scary sound, lush environments
Cons long load times, scary sound
Recommended it? Yes

Let me start off by explaining that I did not purchase this game. It was loaned to me a very long time ago by my neighbor's 11-year-old son who had learned that I, an adult woman, had purchased a Dreamcast, but had not yet purchased any games. He has almost every game in the Dreamcast library, so... Read full review »

Pros Fast action, deep exploration, use your head as well as your reflexes!
Cons Some slow-down, load-times drag, but so what?
Recommended it? Yes

ShadowMan took me EONS to complete. I like that! Everytime I thought I just HAD to be near the end, it kept on going! And I LOVED every minute of it!

Many have compared this game to Tomb Raider. Okay, I can see the resemblance, a little. You DO carry out many of the same actions (running,... Read full review »

Even more fun than the old Spider-Man platform games

byHawgWyld Jan 8, 2003
54 Helpfuls 55 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Visually and musically beautiful; Spider-Man's moves are created well; dandy action
Cons Too short; the final level is a needless chore; port of a PS1 game?
Recommended it? Yes

You know, that old theme from the Spider-Man cartoon always bothered me. You know the one. It's famous:

Spider-Man
Spider-Man
Does whatever a spider can

Actually, that little ditty is misleading as hell because Spider-Man can do much more than a common, household... Read full review »

Pros Great graphics and sound - Stan Lee himself narrates
Cons Controls can be awkward, Camera angles a little funky
Recommended it? Yes

Note: Just so that there is no confusion, this review is of the Spiderman game for PlayStation 1, and it came out over a year before the new Spider-Man movie was released. There is a new Spider-Man game for PlayStation 2, but this review is of an older one.

Spiderman for PlayStation is... Read full review »
